Open Mic for Translators and Translations

An earthshatteringly fun evening of reading & drinking! The t&t open mic is a get-together for local people and readable things in English translation.

Anyone may read or just come, sit back and listen. Translations cover all sorts of things – from fiction and non-fiction, short story or dramas. It could be a letter you’ve had translated from geneaology work or it could be…well, it could be almost anything. You choose what you want to read….as long as it’s a translation…and blow us away with your dynamite selection! All readings are in English (no knowledge of other languages needed nor recommended).

People are also encouraged to read anything they have translated – published or unpublished. The t&t open mic is a gathering of language-interested folks, exploring what the great big world of translations has to offer.

People sign up to read at 7 pm; readings begin at 7:30 p.m. Depending on the number of readers, we take a short breather between two sets. Reading ends at 9:00 p.m.

Attendance is fluid; come & go as you wish. Cover is by donation; drinks are served!

Some readings may not be meant for a kid audience. We will give a heads up before those selections so families can accomodate if they wish.
